Landscape File (.LCP)

The Landscape File has the extension .LCP and contains all the spatial data themes imported from the GIS. These must include 5 basic themes; elevation, slope, aspect, fuel model, canopy cover. The Landscape (.LCP) File may include optional files for stand height, height to live crown base, crown bulk density, duff loading, and course woody profiles. Those parameters that are not provided by a GIS theme will be constant across the entire landscape as set in the "Canopy Characteristics" or "Project Inputs" dialog boxes.

An Landscape (.LCP) File is a binary file comprised of a header and a body of short integers for each of the themes it contains. The header contains information on the bounds of the area, the resolution of the cells, and the units of the themes.

The Landscape (.LCP) File is generated using the Input > Landscape Utilities > Generate Landscape File command which requires you to specify each of the ASCII themes from the GIS and their units.
