Version 3.0.0 of FlamMap 3.0 was released March 20, 2006. The following distribution packages are available for download. Please save the desired download to your local hard drive and follow the instructions below.

Major feature additions include support for the Scott & Burgan Fuel Models, Minimum Travel Time fire growth model, and the Treatment Optimization Model. Also a second method of calculating crown fire behavior has been added. All of the features found in FlamMap2 are still available in this new version.

See "What's New in FlamMap3" in the online help system (included with the installation package) for more information on these new features.

Full Installation Package

FlamMap3Setup.msi (6.4 MB) is a Windows installer module containing all FlamMap files as well as Help and Tutorial data. Download this file to a temporary directory, and install by using the Add/Remove Programs control panel or simply double-clicking. Please check the file size to make sure you have the entire file.

Windows Installer issues

The above msi files require the latest version of Windows Installer. The install will notify you of this if your system does not contain the most recent Windows Installer distribution from Microsoft, and attempt to update Windows Installer from Microsoft's website.

Updated Help File

The help system and tutorials have been updated as part of JFSP project 05-4-1-23. They include more material on the Minimum Travel Time fire growth method and the Treatment Optimization Model. For the updated help click here, FlamMap3.chm (2.8 MB), and download the file into your FlamMap3 folder to replace the current file of the same name. Again, please check the file size to make sure you have the entire file.
