| Spread Distance in direction of maximum spread vs. specified direction of spread |

Distance is given for the direction of maximum spread even when surface rate of
spread is calculated in specified directions.

fixes:
- In version 4, manually multiply the calculated surface rate
of spread by the elapsed time.
- Use BehavePlus version 3, which is on the
Archives page. You can have both BehavePlus3 and BehavePlus4 on your computer
at the same time.

| SURFACE Flame Length Calculations are wrong for the two fuel model option |
| Description | The flame lengths are wrong for the two fuel model options in SURFACE. The weighted rates of spread are ok.

- Flame length values are not weighted. The maximum of the two values is used, regardless of the percent cover. Calculate flame lengths for the individual fuel models and manually select the maximum value.

Interim fixes:
- Run SURFACE and MORTALITY separate from SURFACE and CROWN. There is no interaction between MORTALITY and CROWN.
- Run SURFACE, CROWN, and MORTALITY with the option of input wind adjustment factor.
- Use BehavePlus version 3.0.2, which is on the
Archives page. You can have both BehavePlus3 and BehavePlus4 on your computer
at the same time.
