Credits and Acknowledgments

The BehavePlus program and some of the supporting materials were developed through contracts #53-0343-7-0020 and #53-0343-0-0011 with Systems for Environmental Management (SEM).

The following individuals are currently working on components of the project:

  • Patricia L. Andrews, US Forest Service fire behavior research scientist, is the program manager. Responsibilities include system design, publications, and training.
  • Collin Bevins, SEM, has been the program developer through version 4.
  • Rob Seli, US Forest Service, develops supporting material including the User’s Guide and training material.
  • Tobin Kelley, US Forest Service, develops supporting material with focus on use of BehavePlus for prescribed fire planning.
  • Faith Ann Heinsch, SEM, is responsible for publishing information about BehavePlus on FireModels.org and for developing training material.
  • Deb Tirmenstein, SEM, conducts program testing and reviews and edits supporting documents.

The following individuals have contributed to past components of the project:

  • Don Carlton, SEM (version 1 users guide and online help system)
  • Joe Scott, SEM (online help and supporting material for the fire models added in version 2, additional 40 fuel models for version 3)
  • Miguel Cruz, SEM (Portuguese translation for the Language menu option in version 3)
  • Dave Custer (version 1 tutorial editing)

Software technical support is provided by USDA Forest Service, Fire and Aviation Management, National Systems Support Group, Boise, ID, as listed on the Contact Us page.
